When we saw the artwork designs that LRG clothing co., had come up with - we were thrilled to get the project rolling. Executing LRG's designs on one of Vancouver's largest and most prestigious windows displays (Boardroom on 1745 West 4th) was something we were keen to ad to our portfolio.
The design featured 3 different layers and displays medias. The background had a different image for each of the 6 massive window panes. A Giraffe, Geese, Africa, a Lion, and palm trees. LRG wanted their background to be on a flat enough surface to give it the most professional look and appeal. We suggested using our 450gsm banner material, carefully hung from the top with grommets to prevent any potential puckers or wrinkles. Our installation team did a fabulous job hanging the banners flat, and smooth enough making them look like a wall's surface.
The next layer featured in this 3 dimensional window display was grass. LRG's design featured real grass in between the backdrop, and the glass window. It added another dimension to the design, and made the overall look more appealing and noticeable. The display is scheduled to be up for 6 weeks so we chose to get fake grass to ensure it wouldn't rot or change color over the time period. The grass is mounted into Styrofoam blocks. We then covered the Styrofoam blocks with real moss to give it an entirely natural look.
For the third and final layer - it featured 2 large green strips of printed exterior adhesive window vinyl. PLUS a TON of exterior adhesive white cut vinyl. With over 300square feet of white cut vinyl alone - the job was massive, and we had to split the artwork into nearly 100 different pieces. All of the pieces were labeled, and put everything back together as it was stuck onto the window.
