Transforming Vancouver’s Downtown: The New Granville Street Pedestrian Zone

Granville Street looks a little different this summer—and we are absolutely here for it.

If you’ve taken a stroll down the downtown core recently, you’ve likely noticed a vibrant shift. The launch of the Granville Street Pedestrian Zone has brought a wave of fresh energy to one of Vancouver’s most iconic corridors. By limiting vehicle traffic, the city has created a dynamic, open space for locals and visitors alike to explore, connect, and truly experience the heart of the city.

But if you look down while you're walking, you'll see a little piece of us, too!

Bringing Color to the Core: Our Partnership with Downtown Van

We are incredibly proud to have partnered with Downtown Van on this fantastic urban revitalization project. To help define the space and guide visitors through the pedestrian zone, the Blast Media Print team produced and installed the interactive floor graphics you’ll see stretching throughout the corridor.

Large-format outdoor graphics require a unique blend of durability, safety (non-slip surfaces are a must for Vancouver weather!), and high-impact color. Our goal was to create visuals that not only stand out but also complement the lively, community-focused atmosphere of the new pedestrian zone.

A Huge Thank You: Projects like this don’t happen in a vacuum. We want to extend a massive thank you to the team at Downtown Van and everyone else involved in bringing this initiative to life. It’s an honor to contribute to the evolving landscape of our city.
