A Last-Minute Rush for a Legend: Prepping Granit Xhaka’s 150th Cap Boots

A Last-Minute Rush for a Legend: Prepping Granit Xhaka’s 150th Cap Boots

You never quite know who’s going to walk through the doors at Blast Media, but a few days ago a VIP guest brought some serious international football history with him.

Roger Kaspar, the Head of Material and Kit Manager for the Swiss national football team, stopped by our shop with a time-sensitive mission. Operating out of the team's home base in Staufen AG, Roger is the mastermind behind the scenes, managing everything from printing and badges to the highly specific player preferences for around 500 jerseys and base layers during major tournaments.

This, however, it was all about the feet.

“Behind every great player is an incredible kit manager making sure they look and feel like a champion.”

The Mission: Customized Cut Vinyl

Roger needed some custom cut vinyl pressed onto a couple of pairs of boots for the massive match last week. And these aren't just any regular boots—they belong to Swiss captain Granit Xhaka, who is stepped onto the pitch to earn his historic 150th cap for Switzerland.

We prepped two sets of graphics for Roger:

  • The Laced Boots: The main event. These are the pristine, freshly customized boots Xhaka wore as he lead the team out.

  • The Old Boots: A reliable, broken-in pair that he just finished using in his final pre-match practice session.

Being a small part of Xhaka's milestone 150th matchday prep is an absolute honour. A huge thank you to Roger for trusting us with the last-minute assist.

Ho決p Schwiiz! Let’s get that win, Granit! 🇨🇭⚽️
